We realise that on occasions your late visit to Bali, Indonesia must have been hell. Food in third world jails is poor and many times family and friends have to bring food into the prison.

You knew the consequences of drug use in Indonesia. You must have seen the government ads featuring a noose. You travelled widely in Asia and worked and played in Japan. You and Mercedes Corby, your drug-using sister, were fully aware of the unintended consequences of your love a affair with Cannabis Sativa and other illegal toxins.

 

 We know that you are/will be beseiged by offers for interviews, talkback and books. Cuorrupt current affairs pulp fictionist A Current Affair must be salivating at  your release. Your saga has been skillfully stage-managed by public relations managers. They ensured you were rarely out of the public eye.

 

With your release, we see Australia and Indonesia (and thus Siamese twin Malaysia) are friends again. The apathetic masses of Australia sing out: A credit to Australia was the wild colonial girl.
